seasons

Hillsong just came out with a song called seasons and it’s one of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard since ‘What A Beautiful Name’. It blows my mind how God’s timing works. This past week I was talking to a friend about seasons in our lives and how even with God there are seasons that we struggle through and seasons that are a little easier. Soon after, I got some news from another friend that basically (long story short) was the intro to the beginning of a new season for both her and for me.

With the recent news from my friend and my current state of health and the unknown, it’s been a lot for me to process. Sometimes we need to realize even though this winter season isn’t forever, it doesn’t always mean it’s gonna be the length our calendar says it’s gonna be.

Aside from little breakdown I’m having, I’m listening to Seasons on repeat and just taking in these lyrics, “Though the winter is long even richer, the harvest it brings”- does this not blow your mind away?! He promises us that He’s always working in our lives even if it feels like we are being ignored or our wants are not being fulfilled. Guys, HE IS NOT DONE WITH US. We have eternal life with Him! “I can see the promise. I can see the future.” We can see the promise and future because we know He is the God of seasons and the longer we wait, the greater the prize is. I know it’s easier to read it than believe it. I know because I’ve been there and it still happens. I’ve doubted God more than you can count but I can 100% tell you that He is not finished for what is and what is to come for me. We can only move in our lives if we lay our old selves down and carry our cross. Our season of happiness will come and our season of sadness or uncertainty (or whatever it is you’re going through) is here for a reason.

I just want to encourage you in this post. i want you to know that you are not alone in this journey-He is here.

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing..." -John 15:1-27

"Lord, I thank you for everything. I thank you for moving within us and working through others even if our eyes cannot see it. Lord you are so good to us even as we doubt you and your power."
