Now that I've lived in Savannah for a little over 3 years, I'd like to think I know where the cool places are. Some suggestions are a little touristy and some are the good ol' places for locals.

1. Foxy Loxy Cafe

This is my favorite coffee shop in Savannah because they serve coffee AND tacos. My absolute favorite drink that I purposely get every time is their iced horchata latte. I never really liked horchata by itself but when you put it together with a coffee, voila! Trust me, you have to order it at least once. They also have mean desserts and pastries. In the mornings, I'll order a kolache or two and later in the day after I've had a taco, I'll order a brownie or cookie.

2. J. Christopher's

In my opinion, this it the best brunch place. My friends and I always go here for Sunday brunch after church. They have your classic homemade breakfast platters, bottomless coffee, etc. I like to get their skillets. They fill me up and make me happy. Please, I am an absolute sucker for brunch. Still wondering why I don't have a shirt for that yet...

3. Collins Quarter

The Collins Quarter is a great place for brunching, late night drinks, and late night coffee shots. I love their eggs benedict. Truth be told, I don't go there very often due to it being in the center of downtown. You know how us locals love to avoid any tourist traffic. I've only had it once...desperate to stay awake for a late night project and because my dedication to coffee is too real...it's called The Pan (I think). This order is four different types of coffee shots. I can't tell you exactly what each drink is (can't find it on their online menu) but I know for a fact that it works. Ha!

4. Back in the Day Bakery

This cute little bakery is perfect for bible studies, meet-ups and even study time. It's a great place for sweet treats, baguettes and coffee. If you only want to try one thing when you get there, I dare you to get their lavender shortbread cookies (photo at the very beginning of this post). I dare you! They are delicious and the lavender taste isn't too strong if you aren't really into lavender.

5. Green Truck Pub

Guys, this is by far my favorite burger place in Savannah. I wouldn't call myself a hamburger junkie but this girl likes her meat once in a while. You can only expect thick, juicy farm burgers with deliciously seasoned house-made fries. I'm one of those people who get in food ruts and tend to order the same thing every time (Hot Rod Burger). Mmmm!

6. Hirano's Restaurant

Savannah doesn't have too many options when it comes to asian food. Thankfully they have a wonderful and inexpensive Japanese place that is just out of downtown. Despite this photo of sushi (which they also serve) I always get their teriyaki chicken and a serving of edamame, because they are just so good!

7. Flying Monk Noodle Bar

When I'm not feeling chicken and rice, I head over to Flying Monk Noodle Bar where I actually have ordered a few different dishes. I mainly get their pho but I also like their Singapore noodles.

8. + 9. Mellow Mushroom & Vinnie Van Go Go's

Who doesn't love pizza?! Obviously that was a rhetorical question. We have a few great places in Savannah that would fulfill your pizza dreams. If you like more exotic fancy pizza, I'd head over to Mellow Mushroom. If you like your classic pizza, Vinnie Van Go Go's is a rad place located at the end of City Market.

11. Leopold's Creamery

Too hot to handle? Yea, I feel you. Though a little overrated & touristy, Leopold's is the right blend of yummy and fun . Located directly in Downtown, this is a great place to grab a cone and walk around town...or sit, if it's way too hot.

Most of these photos are not mine...I have them linked to their original owners in case you are curious.
