in the light
written in nov of 2018!
time flies fast! i’m still shocked that it’s been a little over a month since i moved back to california. actually, it seems that i have been here longer and that new york was such a long time ago.
i’m listening to the Lumineers “In the Light”, trying to write this post and sobbing. adjusting to life here in san francisco has been interesting…scratch that, this adjustment has been hard. please don’t pity me because i am fully aware that i am the one who made the decision to take a break from the big city. i am learning that life is nothing but tough choices. sometimes you have to make a drastic change in order to redirect the path you are on.
when i look at my photos shot in california, they range between nature and photos of my cat, roo. when i look at my photos shot in new york, i only see people who i surrounded myself with. life is teaching me that no matter where i may be, it’s the people that really make you feel at home.
growing up in california, i was able to enjoy the scenery. moving to new york taught me how to make the best of the scenery no matter how gruesome or great it may be…as long as you had someone by your side.
jee wiz, i really am a sentimental schmuck.
